Dj Osborne:

What's going on everybody? Welcome to the podcast. It is the AMP agency adventure and activity marketing pros tune in for another episode on the podcast

Stephen Edwards:

what is happening everybody?

Dj Osborne:

Hey what's going on? And yeah, we are recording today in studio and we brought in a guest from tracktown Adventures DJ Osborne what's going on man? How you doing? Good how are you guys?

Stephen Edwards:

You know it's a it's pretty nice day over here in Vegas. Are you? Is it snowing over there?

Unknown:

You know it's funny. The weather is so crazy. It's 71 day yesterday we had a blizzard it's 60 today so

Stephen Edwards:

one of our one of our other clients hit me up this morning his Tesla he's like the range on my Tesla sucks today because it's cold outside and snowing. I'm like yeah, we don't have that problem over here. It's beautiful. My Tesla's my test is fine.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah, I heard I heard in Nashville was getting snow too. Or something like that. East Coast has been getting hammered. Feels like

Stephen Edwards:

I know. That's your business. I know. You pray for snow. Well, no, but honestly, like the thought of snow kind of gives me anxiety. I am so happy to not be around snow anymore. I just, you know, sunny days. I think of my boat out on the slip. I'm ready to go to the water. I'm not about that snow life.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah, what kind of what kind of boat you get?

Stephen Edwards:

I stepped it up. stepped it up. I got the notic G 23. Oh,

Dj Osborne:

nice.

Stephen Edwards:

I am. It's only gone out once I'm I'm excited. I'm ready to spend some time out on the water. So I like I like that lake life. I wish we had more Lake options.

Unknown:

I boats lately,

Stephen Edwards:

are you? Well that's exactly that's how you get roped in because all of a sudden you need a wakeboard boat. And then you go shop for wakeboard boat and you're like, Okay, I can buy a wakeboard boat. I'll buy this used on I'll buy this Oh, six. It's like 5060 grand, right? Yeah. And then you own it a year and you're like, Okay, but then you go look, and it's like, everything you want in life is 100k. Like,

Jaden Cymbaluk:

yeah, 100k is where's that just where you're at? You're like, No,

Stephen Edwards:

no, no, no, it's it's not it's not at all. Unfortunately.

Unknown:

I get I get fortunately my business partner and body Oh.

Stephen Edwards:

Oh, what's what's that? body is an overpriced aluminum. It's a it's kind of a rarity in the world because they they're stupid expensive. It's 300 and change. But

Unknown:

yeah, it's bendy. And they are sweet. I mean, but those those not teex man.

Stephen Edwards:

So yeah, if you I mean, I call it wakeboard punk porn the same way you're into like, snowmobile porn. You know, the knotty Paragon. That's kind of like the that's the boat porn. Oh,

Dj Osborne:

it's Yeah. What is it? What is what is the season? Because I mean, we're in I mean, we're in April now we got jet skis going out.

Stephen Edwards:

It season. We're deep in it. I mean, the water. What's the water? The water is freezing waters cold as hell. But a couple more weeks here. We're rolling. I mean, that's the best part about being here is like our season is from now until November.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah. Now until November does he call I would say I would say October.

Unknown:

So so you being you being a Utah guy. Have you made it down to Powell? Because Paulo is basically like a wakeboarding guys to have a houseboat. My wife and I are her siblings. We all went in on a houseboat together. Yeah. Yeah, it was sweet. Man. I want to get back to that.

Stephen Edwards:

That seems like a solid way to spend a weekend in our week or whatever. We're just talking about

Unknown:

the hospital. Yeah, we usually go down for a week. Yeah. Yeah, that place is so rad.

Stephen Edwards:

Every I keep watching videos. Again. That's kind of like you know, wakeboard porn. That's where every Yeah, great wakeboarder in the planet goes as they just live in parallel and do cool shit in hell. But during the summer, if you want to go during prime months, those houseboats are big money. It's like, Oh, yeah, it's a solid way to spend 10,000 bucks in a week. Yeah,

Unknown:

we had a middle of the middle of the month. July we Oh, yeah. Yeah, Ching. He was sweet. I mean, so I get well fed though. Yeah, I

Stephen Edwards:

bet it's a great week. What I always keep looking at is I think it would make sense to go out in like October, you know, where it's still warm enough and the water has been warm all summer. And and houseboats are two thirds of the price or not half price, but instead of it being a $10,000 week, it's maybe a $5,000 week. It's like

Dj Osborne:

those, it's like those cabanas in those pool seasons in Vegas where they got the peak season and then the offseason and stuff. So yeah, it's awesome. It's uh, anything going on in like current news today. I mean it is for for 20 today it is.

Stephen Edwards:

I want to celebrate that life you know, it's, it's fun. It's not on for 20 but I have to laugh last night as well like you guys probably don't that sound really lame when I said out loud but last night I was watching the voice and Snoop Dogg was one of the guys on the voice I'm like, What the hell is Snoop Dogg? That guy for the voice but

Dj Osborne:

he just yeah. And then over the weekend too. There was that fight on a trailer fight. Jake Paul,

Stephen Edwards:

do you watched out are you under though?

Dj Osborne:

I'm ended up I didn't watch it. I we were busy with a crazy awesome motorcycle tour last weekend. So

Stephen Edwards:

that sounds probably more like adult ish than watching a new Paul fight.

Dj Osborne:

Snoop Dogg was on that, too. Yeah. And then another. This is just a funny thing, too. They added music music into it. A lot of people saying there was a lot more music than there was fights. But they had, I was reading the tweets. And I thought this one was funny. This is they said this is like if a bar owner won the lottery, and then paid to have all of his favorite favorite or favorite performers all at the same place. Because it was like it was like too short and 40. Like, awesome. All these people. I knew it was pretty funny like that. I mean, I get the concept. And I think the concept is really cool. But I mean, I know people are disappointed in the whole fight in general.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah, it was lamb. I thought I saw that I didn't miss anything. I don't think you missed anything. I thought it was like

Dj Osborne:

it was like a one minute knockout. And dude was you know, everybody was saying from the beginning. You know dad bod boxer

Stephen Edwards:

fighters. That's me. That's what I'm going to be as a dad bod boxer. You being out in Utah. You guys don't celebrate that for 20 life out there. I mean, we don't celebrate it. I don't celebrate it here. So I mean, if I don't know, it's not legal on Utah's up.

Dj Osborne:

No, no, not yet.

Stephen Edwards:

But it's not illegal but it is partaken in. Yeah,

Unknown:

yeah, it's very Yeah. Um, yeah, I got people to do some stuff.

Stephen Edwards:

You're not here. But if you were asking for a friend, you probably know where to get some Right.

Unknown:

Yeah. Yeah, center sister had a baby today.

Stephen Edwards:

Oh my gosh. Well, that's Yeah. The kids traumatized I'm in my

Unknown:

whole family had some jokes. But

Dj Osborne:

is that is that what they do? I mean, it's kind of the modern day like for 20. I mean, my kid was born on tax day four or 415 or tax deadline, but

Stephen Edwards:

four point is way more now. Everybody acts. Everybody extends their taxes anyways, and you're probably gonna get a kid just gets a shitty birthday for the rest of his life is on tax day. I'm sorry. We're not going to Chucky cheese. Do you know what that costs? Oh, man.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah, my little. Yeah, but but on the same time, Joe? Uncle Joe was just handing out money. You know what I mean? This year to everybody so

Stephen Edwards:

didn't Hand me any? Yeah, I didn't hit him.

Dj Osborne:

for the kids. For the kiddos, though. It was it was all those tax cuts on the kids. Yeah.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah. Wait time. I wish I had more kids.

Unknown:

I mean, you can

Stephen Edwards:

play on it. You know what kids, don't you? What do you got?

Dj Osborne:

Yeah, I got some boys. Yeah. How many? Two boys? Two boys in it. And then that's it. Just two boys. Yeah. JOHN.

Unknown:

Well, well, good. I'm actually getting snipped next week too. I'm done.

Dj Osborne:

Oh, now we've had conversations about

Stephen Edwards:

our life.

Dj Osborne:

We've had conversations about that, too. I'm Uh, I'm now not a bull out in the pasture anymore. I'm a steer. So they cut me out. So I'm done to

Stephen Edwards:

on a on another show I listened to it's the funniest thing ever. because growing up, you were basically taught for years and years and years. Like don't get pregnant, don't get a pregnant, whatever you do, don't get pregnant. Then all of a sudden, you're supposed to like, now you got to get pregnant. Why? What do you mean? Now? I got approaches totally different than uh, but yeah, I think you'll like to cut life. It's pretty nice.

Unknown:

Yeah, it's a good way to live. My wife would like more kids, but you know,

Stephen Edwards:

you better be careful. That's my brother's already making fun of me. He's

Unknown:

like, man, if you had kids right now, just think he's like, you'd be falling asleep and playing soccer with him. And like, 10 years from now? How wrecked your body is and I'm like, how old are you? 37 Oh, yeah, I've broken like every bone. So

Stephen Edwards:

really? So really, I'm

Unknown:

like, 47. And I'm not why Phil 46.

Stephen Edwards:

You're taking that osteo by flex and make sure that those joints feel good. And you've got pains that you didn't really realize that you had until now. You're 37

Unknown:

Yeah, yes.

Stephen Edwards:

I mean, in that, you know, that is a shitty part. I'm 40. And I definitely have some pains that I really didn't think were going to be there. But my knee, man, that knee just keeps aching. That's Yeah, that's why I'll let you keep doing what you do. So let's talk about what you do. Yeah,

Dj Osborne:

let me give him a little bit of an introduction here and kind of then you can do Tell us a little bit because yeah, we love to know tour operators or people in the adventure experience space. That's exactly what we do. And so yeah, we wanted to bring you on the show. It's a client of ours, we redid his website, tracked out adventures. It is in Utah. They do motorcycle ATV, UTV snowmobile tours. You're actually used to be kind of like a professional rider or I mean, still are still we're I mean, we're, I guess keyboarder Well,

Unknown:

I mean, I'm

Stephen Edwards:

37 now so pretty still. Yeah,

Unknown:

I'm old. My I retired from motorcycle, the professional motorcycle riding quite a while ago. But um, yeah, I mean, most people recognize me from like, natural circus DVDs and stuff like that. Oh, cool. Again, I got involved in nytro circus kind of in its infancy. And you know, helps create that brand. Up until the time they kind of sold it off.

Dj Osborne:

So that's one wasn't. Didn't I trust circus do a like a like a touring show? I mean, for a while. Yeah. And then it was in Vegas. Still,

Unknown:

they still I mean, they I think they took some time off for COVID. But

Stephen Edwards:

it's pretty solid Russell are going to be back

Unknown:

at it pretty soon. Yeah.

Stephen Edwards:

Does that still. I mean, obviously, you would know. Is it still tied to Travis Pastrana? Or How's that? Yeah,

Unknown:

I think I'm pretty sure I mean, it's, it's always been called Travis Pastrana and the nytro sir, gotcha.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah. The modern modern day evil Knievel. Right. I mean, that's

Unknown:

kind of leader of that, you know, tribe. So

Stephen Edwards:

yeah. When you said it got sold off. I didn't know if he was still involved. I it's funny. You say that? Because I literally just watched the Jim Connor thing the other day. Oh, nice. That a Travis Pastrana thing. You know, I was watching that Jim khana. Whatever. It's Jim kind of 47 or whatever one is where? There's a lot of them. But I mean, the new one where they had Travis with the rally car. And I think they did it in Maryland. I think they did in his hometown. It was just neat. Well, and you know, what's funny is because I didn't know you were tied to nytro circus from before, but I was, you know, Alex was going through your video that you've uploaded for us the other day. And I was like, this looks just like, you know, this is one step removed from some Jim Connor stuff. Yeah. But that's Wait, that's crazy.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah, so So tell us a little bit about like, yeah, where you guys are located at? You know what I mean? A little 32nd, you know, pitch of your guys's business. And then we'll kind of go into like, how you kind of got into the tours? how that all makes sense. And then, you know, a little bit of background history on yourself. Yeah, so we kind of operate in two locations in Utah. Northern Utah is our primary location around Park City, Salt Lake City area, we have a bunch of different trail heads we guide from we primarily work off of alvers permit with Forest Service. So we have an insane amount of land to operate on. You know, most who are companies here working on private land. And that's just not, we're not about that life, we want to give the people the true backcountry experience. So Park city's like our main kind of hub where we do sell wheel tours, UTV tours, and motorcycle tours. And then, you know, we're starting to operate down in St. George, Utah, where we've been doing motorcycle tours for two years, kind of low key. And just for, you know, clients that really wanted to ride during winter, and I think that's probably going to be the next like, place we we really have a actual facility, so we'll kind of be operating in southern Utah, northern Utah ultra. That's just do you know, UTV and and motorcycle tours down there. So with that, uh, like with that, like forest land? Tell me a little bit about that, because that's kind of an interesting thing. Do you guys have to have like, permits? And you know what I mean? Or like, how did that relationship come about?

Unknown:

Yeah, so the permit thing, you know, of course, like if you're operating on federal land, whether it be BLM or the forest, you've got to have some, well, you're supposed to have some sort of, you know, Outfitters permit to do that. If you're guiding obviously, if you're doing like self guided rentals, whatever, that stuff, but when you're utilizing that land commercially, you do have to have a permit. So there's a kind of a pain in the butt process. You know, I've known guys when I first got my very first permit permit I got was for, like a 20 mile trail. That's it. That's how we started like a 20 mile trail. I had dudes calling me all over Utah pissed off, because they're like, dude, I've been trying to get a permit for 30 years. How did you do this? And what it really came down to is we had a solid plan in place as how we were going to operate. Sure. I mean, that's really what it took. And I You know, I think the Forest Service's looking for like a good partner out there, you know, because we're not surely we're, you know, you know, using the land, we're paying for this permit. But at the end of the day, we're kind of a partner, we're looking out for the forest, or teaching people things like leave no trace, you know, tread lightly. You know, all those different initiatives out there. And I think they wanted someone who would really push that. Sure, Ellen. Yeah, that's cool. It seems like a lot of people have a problem with federal government. Yeah.

Stephen Edwards:

You know, challenging at times.

Unknown:

Yeah, it's challenging.

Stephen Edwards:

So I think it's, I think it's interesting because, you know, most people struggle to find a way to make their passion, their job. And for a guy that came from motocross, or not motocross, but, I mean, I've seen your, you know, your stunting on on sport bikes, and you know, I can about imagine how that goes. I remember my first wheelie, and how it's scary, and then I see you doing like, endos and the crazy shit on a sport bike. Makes me feel kind of like a little bitch, but that's okay. Um, you just seeing like, how you've basically created a life where your entire life is spent, you know, riding sleds riding at, you know, riding utvs riding a bike, that has to feel pretty good.

Dj Osborne:

It's pretty cool. You know, I remember, my, my dream was, I remember in high school, I was like, yeah, I'm gonna ride motorcycles professionally. And I grew up in this little tiny town in Wyoming and people laugh at me, they're like, dude, you're crazy. Never gonna happen, you know. And after, after the nitrile circus seeing and my, my writing career winded down, you know, as a software engineer for a bit, because I always, always like technology, I think it's cool. And I've always been a part of that. But I just after sitting in the desk for like, six years, I was going crazy. And I was I just like, burned my whole life to the ground because it was like it was die, or, like, re invent who I used to be and continue on the path of the Moto and the snowmobile and stuff like that, like, that's truly who I was born to be. So

Stephen Edwards:

is that how you ended up in Salt Lake because that's See, that's a nice, that's an interesting piece, because I thought you probably transition just from being in, you know, the motocross or motorcycle side of it, to where it's like, Hey, we're, you know, doing big country, you know, snowmobile films. And it just was the natural progression. I had no idea you had dabbled, you know how to desktop software. Like that is polar opposite of what I would have guessed you'd ever done.

Unknown:

Yeah, most. And that's, that's what's funny is, when a software engineer, I was still doing like shows here and there. As I was retiring, and people would say, Hey, man, what else do you do? And I'm like, Oh, I'm a software engineer. I'm like, Yeah, right. There's no awesome, you know, and it's true. I mean, I didn't connect with you know, the people I worked with stuff like that. I'd be like, hey, what guys doing this weekend? They'd be like, oh, we're gonna get together and game or do this and like, what are you doing? I'm like, I'm gonna go to San Diego, or I'm gonna go ride my snowmobile, you know. And then I found out that I was pretty good at snowmobiling. And I met some guys who make a bat country snowmobile film. And I started pushing that more and more and more, and I was just like, Man, you know, I really miss working in the industry. Like I always thought when I you know, as I worked for nitrile circus, I'd be involved in the action sport industry somehow Sure, whether it was through racing or making films, whatever it was. And I just, I had to get back to that because I mean, that's just, that's who I am. And in

Stephen Edwards:

most, most,

Unknown:

unless I do I was born to do you know, I

Stephen Edwards:

mean, most of you guys end up in the industry as a sales rep for you know, can am or you're selling clothing for Thor or something like that, you know, that's kind of always the natural progression and then your four is

Dj Osborne:

that that does that still? Is that still pop?

Unknown:

I mean, it's pretty sore. mx is still around. Yeah, remember?

Dj Osborne:

I'm sorry, that dates me a little bit, but yeah, Thor, man.

Stephen Edwards:

What could it be Fox racing?

Dj Osborne:

Well, that's where I was going. Yeah, I mean, I haven't been in the thing is Fox still around?

Stephen Edwards:

Things are bigger than ever.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah, I mean, well, they should. They should. I thought that that was we were watching a Netflix documentary The other day and they were talking about Converse. Do you know like, do you know when it was like that'd be sweetest like documentary and I don't really know nothing about the backer shear Converse, do you?

Stephen Edwards:

I don't other than the fact I've got a pair of shell toes.

Dj Osborne:

I mean, they've been around for like a while. You know what I mean? So it's kind of crazy to think like, it's kind of funny to like, when you were you brought up Jim Jim Connor. Yeah. I mean, if you look in the Ken Block story, DC shoes, yeah. was founded by Ken Block. Yeah, I knew. Yeah. I knew that. And then like Rob Dyrdek,

Unknown:

Nick. Yeah, I mean, it's, it's kind of wild. There was

Stephen Edwards:

a better time back then.

Dj Osborne:

He was it wasn't good because we we How'd they brought it up was the they were showing like somebody from back in the day and it was like in the 90s. And he was like, Yeah, my brother was kind of like a, like a clothing designer. I was on that Mark Wahlberg documentary. So that's what, that's what I was watching it on. And he's like, yeah, my brother, you know what I mean, was kind of doing these pants and stuff like that. And I was like, yeah, Wonder we're, like, you know, people were doing that back in the 80s and 90s that around, like today, you know, from the converse, guys. And like the vans, stuff like that,

Stephen Edwards:

I still, I mean, I don't want to say I like miss those times. But that's like, my go to play playlist is from like, you know, late 90s 2000s. You know, rock like that and watching all that stuff and how that played out even you know, for if you're a Motorsports guy, how the wheel I was talking about the Fast and Furious stuff, because back then I used to own a car stereo, like performance shop. And it was right at that, like, right when that got popular. I had the S 2000. That was, you know, on huge wheels and totally rice. He had the huge wing. And I mean, I was like, Yeah, 22 years old. I thought it was the cool shit. Maria burns

Dj Osborne:

road sound that was a long time was at the time it was

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah, the Honda Civic. You know, that's way too loud. But you were really doing big things back then.

Dj Osborne:

It is. It is funny. I mean, there was some there was some rice burners or whatever in the softball parking lot still, like, you know, doing some meetups and stuff. And underglow remember under glow under cars. I mean, that was

Stephen Edwards:

your kids are still

Unknown:

young. underglow on your utvs.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah. I mean, that is true, I guess. I mean, yeah, do you guys, I mean, they probably have some pretty bad

Stephen Edwards:

TV, they say that they say that every kid that owned a Honda Civic now owns a Jeep Wrangler, or a razor. And all the money that they put into their Honda Civic is now just put into their Wrangler and their Honda set or their, you know, their cannamd, side by side because you see some of those side by sides like, yeah. probably have a Jeep Wrangler, and a and a side by side. But yeah, it's easy to doesn't take very much. And all of a sudden you got a $50,000 can M Yeah, right.

Unknown:

Yeah, it's, it's too much.

Dj Osborne:

That's the what. So yeah, so you before on our pre show, I mean, you were telling us a little bit about some parts and the accessories and stuff like that. So in your guys's business, I mean, is it kind of fun to kind of be able to spend a little money on you know what I mean? toys for your business? Yeah, you know, the one cool thing, something we've always tried to do is like personalize our machines a little bit, give you something a little bit different, right? Like, first off, we don't have crappy machines. Like when you're gonna come ride with me, you're gonna ride the same machine I would ride. And so doesn't matter what snowmobile or side by side? Am I my Luckily, I have a really awesome business partner who he's, he's of the same opinion. And so you know, we're we're doing like, cooler things than machines. And sure, and making him stand out a little bit. And then just making like, the whole thing that when I started this is I wanted to give you the same experience I was getting out of snowmobiling, or riding utvs or whatever, you know, I don't want to give you a, like I almost hate being called a tour company. Because it's more of an experience. Like it's sure we're selling you an experience. And the word tour drives me crazy, because I feel like it's just like, yo, it's this Follow the Leader thing. And you know, in some way it is I have to I'm a guy that have to show you where the goods are. Yeah. But you know, on the syllables, it's your day, like, you get to decide how far you want to turn it up. You know, I mean, there might be a bill attached to that at the end of the day, if you turn it up too much.

Stephen Edwards:

Sure.

Unknown:

But you know, I'm not a babysitter. I'm just a guide. I'm there to show you the goods. And so that's kind of been our thing is, is we want to give you a personalized experience. We want to give you really cool machines and make you in I don't know if you guys have seen some of our I'm sure you have our YouTube channel. A lot of videos. Yes. Yeah. Like, we try and make a video for every one of our clients to come through. Just to like, give them this memory of man that like, you know, who drives these cool machines, and we're out there in the back country almost died.

Dj Osborne:

Yes, that goes that actually goes along to we did last week, or we did about photos and stuff like that with a rafting company. So do you guys do you guys look at that with video as part of your guys's revenue?

Unknown:

Not really, we just give it to the clients because the way we see it is if I'm giving you this content, you're going to share that content for me, right? Sure. And I'm also going to use that I'm going to recycle that content through our marketing. And you guys

Stephen Edwards:

do produce great content. I'm very happy that you guys deliver content that certainly makes our job easier did make Your guyses stuff like amazing it's, it's cool. Yeah, I mean, I

Unknown:

think I mean Gary Vee said it, you know, he's like, Oh

Stephen Edwards:

shit, your

Unknown:

media company. I don't really like Gary Vee that much. But I like one thing that he said. And that was like, you know, in today's world you need to be a media company and

Dj Osborne:

yeah, or if you're not producing content, but

Stephen Edwards:

I didn't know if I was ready with that. I didn't know if I was ready for the Gary Gary Vee bombs. Truth bombs are bringing out Yeah, well, he had it What was his book was a truth bombs or what the hell it

Unknown:

wasn't. He's got all kinds of books.

Stephen Edwards:

I was ready for you. Like, it's bringing out pretty good. I

Jaden Cymbaluk:

forgot about the book.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah,

Unknown:

I think dabbled in some life coaching things. Yes. I myself hire a life coach. That's how I figured out on my mind. You did it. Yes. In life. Yeah. So you don't I burned my life to the ground. like five years ago. I was done, man. I was I was out I had left my wife. I mean, dude, I was. I had it. It was it, you know, go into that. Yeah, yeah. So I mean, I just like hit me one day, I'm just like, boom is this like, what life is like? My whole life. I wanted to do these things I was in in the nitrile circles kicking ass, blah, blah, blah. I got away from it got I got out of writing. I Hell, I didn't even have a motorcycle for a minute. And, I mean, motorcycles were my identity. And I was just like, so this is it. I gotta I gotta work nine to five programs and some stuff. You know, like, That's it?

Stephen Edwards:

Is it? It's pretty sad. And then that's

Unknown:

and throw in the towel. It just like, hit me hard. And I mean, some people, it's, it's good. They need that structure in life. It works. But for a guy like me, it was killing me. And, I mean, I wanted to it was to the point where I wanted to end my life. I mean, that's how dark it got. And there was a guy I've resonated with. He's actually here in Utah. People love him. People hate him. But either way he like spoke to me, because he had he had himself done the same thing. He just burned it all to the ground.

Stephen Edwards:

Say I am 90% sure I know who you're talking about. But I bet you could guess it wouldn't take. Let's throw it out there. And john waylan. Yeah.

Unknown:

Oh, yeah. Yeah, so lions, not sheep, Sean Whalen. He has, you know, a lot of coaching groups, but he had an experience, he still does these. But it's an experience where it takes a guys and, you know, helps you come to terms with all your BS in life, right? And get it all out on the table. And the biggest thing was telling the truth, like, what did I really want in life? And how, how can I just say what I want live, because I mean, we're really we're, we're kind of programmed to lie. And be nice to people and dance around the truth, you know, it's in. So it's hard for people to just be forthright. And this is put it all out, I want, you know, and it's, it's hard to do that. But I decided I was gonna take his challenge to do so. You know, so I hired him as a coach, I went through this experience with these seven other guys. And from that day forward, I pledged to be a better man and lead a better life and go after what it was I wanted. And that's if had I not done that. I mean, there's no way I'd be in the position I am today, you know, and I always tell that story, to most of my clients actually. Because in, in, in a crazy way, we get a lot of men that come through, you know, our program, and I push these guys because I want them to develop as writers, and I want them to do something they've never done before. And so I'll tell the story. And at the end of it, it kind of hits them that they just did that like this last weekend. You know, we had a guy who he'd watched his two buddies do all the obstacles all the time back at home. Well, he had no choice but to do and when he was out with me, because there was only one way. Yeah, and he had to do it, you know. And so by the end of it, he was hitting like, we're out riding on these, like spines of these mountains and stuff, all steep on each side is some stuff he would have never done before. But he did it. And I at the end of that I told him my story. And he was just like, dang, dude, I'm like, you're gonna go home now and you're gonna ride better than your buddies. Because you're going to look at everything back there and be like, Dude, this is Piece of cake. This DJ dude and Justin, they took me through hell, you know, and that's cool. I'm ready. I'm

Stephen Edwards:

super. So it's, yeah, it's it's interesting, because every week or every, every day, you're essentially taking men out. And it's one step removed from like, basic men's group I made. In fact, I think you and I are in an on, you know, in a couple online men's groups and you know, you've you've played it you've, you've done the Sean Whalen program, you see the struggles that a lot of guys go with. And the fact of like, when they go on these rich, I don't want to call them retreats because that sounds lame. But when they're coming up and they're going snowmobiling with you guys and or they're getting away from their wife and kids for that four days, three days to go out ride. That is like the time they need to actually become I don't want to say become men, but to not not be perceived as not be Yeah, no, that's

Unknown:

that's Dude, that's exactly it. And, and so I mean, that's weird. The modern day man is like being killed. I mean, he is absolutely. And this is like, we can't go to war. We can't fight. You know, like when I went through Sean saying I gotta fight everybody there and I got my ass kicked. But at the same time, I was like, do I was on cloud nine. I was like, Oh my gosh, like I should fight all I have heard

Dj Osborne:

it. I've heard of that, too, where they do like the fighting, fighting things and all that stuff. So yeah, so you did you did that you did the I mean, like, like, how do they do like have like a fistfight between some people or something like that. And there was

Unknown:

a bunch of different things we did. I swore until everything, but I will say we fought each other, you know, like some MMA training that we fought each other and it was good.

Stephen Edwards:

He's not everybody's cup of tea. But I followed him for a long time. And he, you know, he's, he's got some things, you know, we've all we all have our demons and he's had his and I, I've, he's got a good message. You know? Yeah, it's, uh, it's interesting, because it's interesting, because it's such an issue, especially, you know, one step removed from the, from the business side, you know, you were in a business or you had a job that basically was consuming your life. And it's pretty easy to get stuck in monotony. Yeah, it's pretty easy to just, like, go through the motions and wake up every day and do the same shit. And it just consumes who you are. So the idea that you were able to spin off of that, you know, essentially dig yourself out of shit and create something that makes sense for you and makes you happy. And here you are married two kids. Yeah, I'm suck. Seems like that's okay. No,

Unknown:

yeah, you gotta you gotta my wife, pigs what I do, she loves. She loves it. You know, more than anything. She wants to come work in the business with me. That's awesome.

Stephen Edwards:

You know,

Dj Osborne:

that's what I was gonna go into. You get Yeah, you got some pretty good, like staff and stuff like that, that kind of, you know, you're able to create some jobs. We

Unknown:

have awesome. An awesome staff. All of our employees. Kick Ass. That's Yeah, I mean, they're, they're either a professional in the industry, or they're just like the most upbeat awesome person ever.

Stephen Edwards:

So I wish I could give some shit to staff but she's proud. He's pretty

Unknown:

he hasn't, we put an immense workload on that girl. And

Stephen Edwards:

I see that she has to deal with you on a lot of days. So I'll I mean, I get up. I'm a pain in the ass. So I I've seen the back and forth, you're probably a pain in the ass too. So, yeah,

Unknown:

yeah. Okay. It's me, that's, it's my partner. It's our CFO.

Stephen Edwards:

We stuff is challenging. Put a

Unknown:

lot on her. You know, she's also you know, her boyfriend. He works for me. And he also works for my partner to so

Stephen Edwards:

Oh, keeping it close to the family. So she gets to go home to this shit to

Dj Osborne:

what is uh, so So tell me a little bit about this. Because we were going in like, what is probably because you guys do stuff all year round. Right? So is there so I mean, which is, which is cool, because it's like some people in the tour operation. They look at it like seasons, right? You know what I mean? And they're like, Hey, this is my season, and then I'm done close up shop. You know what I mean? They're like, Hey, don't don't make any more money. In a sense. You know what I mean? Yeah, but you guys are like, you know what I mean, I cuz I'm a big believer in this too. It's like you got to figure out or to adapt to look at it like in, you know, 365 day, year type of thing. You know what I mean? So, you guys are able to offer that? Was that always the plan? Or did it start with one or the other?

Unknown:

It was always the plan to operate year round. Always. Just because in Utah, we can, I mean, yeah, geographically, we could, you know, and obviously, snowmobile has its own season kind of thing. But, but everything else, we can kind of work around my own and do a yearly

Stephen Edwards:

or has to be a portion of you that enjoys the huge, I mean, you're you appear to me to be a sled guy. But the UTV thing is like so much easier. easier in the sense that your entire business is not dependent on snow. Yeah, um, to make that work, and I mean, you know, we've, we've gotten to learn your guys's business quite a bit. Well, yeah, I'm sure I'm sure that's how it made sense. It's like, Hey, we're out of snow and It's March, you know, what the hell do we do now? Um, that, uh, that that season is so short that it gets, you know, every every week. It's like, Hey, I really hope we get snow. And then if you don't get snow then it's like, what do we have? We have four weeks we got, you know, eight weeks of snow. It's really hard to build a business just off of that.

Unknown:

It is and Mother Nature. You know, is is beat me up a lot in the past the winter I started this, it didn't snow. Worst winter. And in the history of Utah, I mean, in 140 years, it was the worst winter.

Stephen Edwards:

That can't be good for Park City. I mean, Park City is built around. No. So yeah. And then

Unknown:

the next year, it snowed too much. And so we had to delay opening for summer. Yeah, because the mountains were still covered in snow till July. I remember is July 4. And my wife's like, yo, we should go snowmobiling today. Yeah, that's why that's why my friends were going up to go snowmobiling on the Fourth of July. It was crazy. And, and so it's the UTV thing was like, Alright, well, we can do this. Whether it snows where that? No matter what, because weather doesn't scare me. You know, we get a lot of people who are like, Oh, man, there's a gnarly snowstorm. Are we still going to tell me like yeah, we're gonna snowmobile. Like it doesn't I don't care about weather, saying with motorcycles and rain, they're like, well, it's gonna rain. Okay, cool. Well bring your rain jacket. Yeah, it's gonna be a fun day. You know?

Stephen Edwards:

DJ, I'm waiting until I know it's gonna be warm and sunny. Because I don't want to any of those variables. I'm coming out why I love seeing George because George

Unknown:

is like, I agree. Really awesome weather.

Jaden Cymbaluk:

I mean, people always said that, like St.

Stephen Edwards:

George. It's beautiful up there it is. I'm on a quest to not wear pants this year. So I'm wearing shorts basically for the entire year. So I'm not going to be able to come participate in snowmobile stuff, but I'm happy to come. I'm having to come ride a side by side but as long as it's sunny outside and beautiful. I don't have a rain jacket.

Unknown:

Well, you get I mean, we should just meet in St. George like next week, then. You know, we

Stephen Edwards:

can almost make that we could we could

Unknown:

we're gonna be really nice there. Oh, man. Maybe I should come down and visit you guys since you know

Dj Osborne:

so close. Totally. can totally can.

Stephen Edwards:

It's probably more fun to come hang out with you. Because I don't want to say that like the Vegas thing has been done. But I don't know, man. I'm down to come drive some racers out Nah,

Dj Osborne:

that is that that is one of my like, you know, goals or whatever. And I've even mentioned it before and have not executed it is but to do more experiences more tours. You know what I mean? We've talked about it we've done we haven't? You know, I mean? Shit. We haven't even taken you up on your tours yet or anything like that. So

Stephen Edwards:

yeah, I mean, why do you got to live so far away but now

Dj Osborne:

I'm now I'm a little scared because like deja is gonna give me like the Sean Whalen experience after our ride, and he's gonna be like, Alright Jaden, you ready to fight or what? I'm like, Oh, shit, dude. I just got here, man. Y'all are like,

Stephen Edwards:

I've seen how these guys right I that's truthfully, I'm a little terrified. I mean,

Dj Osborne:

some of that stuff. It's like too much I went to I went to, you know,

Unknown:

we always have that discussion. Like with our content. We're like, Alright, what

Stephen Edwards:

do we show

Dj Osborne:

we show?

Unknown:

Show like what the clients doing? Like what? You know, my wife's like, that's too gnarly. You can't post that. And they're like, No, we got to post it. And post something. That's not as cool too. Yes,

Dj Osborne:

I was. So I went to I went snowmobiling in cook city one time and i was i was the beginner the beginner guy, just because they've been a couple more times. But I'll admit, I kind of played that card like, Hey, bro, if I get stuck, like you got to help me dig, dig myself out stuff like that, because I was like, I kind of liked playing that card rather than being the most experienced on the trip. You know what I mean? It was kinda It was kind of nice.

Stephen Edwards:

I'm scared I've dug out I hate digging out a snowmobile. That's why I pulled the car. Like I see that,

Dj Osborne:

though, because we just we do it for you.

Stephen Edwards:

It's that sounds wonderful. That actually sounds like

Unknown:

you get stuck 1000 times a day. I'm gonna get you unstuck every time. Yeah, that's good.

Dj Osborne:

That's in honestly, that is something that it's like people need to understand. I think it's like, you know, like, guided hunting trips. You know what I mean? Some people, they, they're, they're passionate about hunting, or they like to do it, but then it's like, hey, they just need a little bit of some guidance or a little bit of like someone to show them the experience. You know what I mean? And it's not on manly to do that. You know what I mean? Like, I'm saying

Stephen Edwards:

you're going out DJ in the fuckin hungry.

Dj Osborne:

I know you guys are all sitting here like, quit. Quit being a little bit. You know, you've gone through these like, these, these mental experiences. I'm sitting over here like, god damn, I gotta take my kid to soccer a little bit. Pick up some food.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah, I'm, I'm gonna actually, you know, one thing I actually have to say is that after a day of snowmobiling, I'm surprised you come home when you're actually capable of being a dad and you don't just pour yourself into bed. 435 o'clock in the afternoon. I every time I've gone out, I am so goddamn tired. You must have figured it out at this point on how to actually be a civil functionable adult after the first two weeks of the season are the worst. I'm dying. And Justin's over here is like, Dude, it's training. Just do it. Just pull.

Dj Osborne:

And I'm like, Dude, this sucks.

Unknown:

Oh, do this. He's like, you got this? Because he, Justin who's one of our lead guides. He's an ultra marathoner, dude runs like 100 mile races in the mountains. So he, you know, he's good to go at any any day of the week, he's going to, like, you know, and motorcycle tours. This weekend, he hadn't written you know, I'd been down I had written you know, pre kind of pre round the courses where we run, he comes down immediately hops in the bike and is immediately awesome. I'm like, oh, man, like, how do I get on that guy's level? You know?

Dj Osborne:

So is that is that tell us a little bit about for, you know, the people that listen or whatever, even other tour operators and stuff. What does a season look like to you guys? You know what I mean? Is that, you know, you guys going out six, seven days a week? What does that what does that look like?

Unknown:

Yeah, um, you know, we kind of, we just base our I mean, we operate seven days a week. So, for me building this company, I've worked if if I have to work, I'm definitely there. So it could be seven days a week. But from December 1 through usually the end of April is our snowmobile season, our prime snowmobile season. And it is something that we're very passionate about. So we really dive into that, Justin, and I just like, we put all of our energy into snowmobiling then. And then we kind of by April, I'm done. I'm ready to switch to motorcycle season and boom, immediately on the bikes, you know, until end of October, and then November is kind of a month that we get ready for winter.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah, because I'm sure you got that slow down period a little bit. I

Dj Osborne:

mean, not much, but yeah,

Stephen Edwards:

yeah. I suppose. Yeah. Amazing.

Unknown:

Slow month to like may is, you know, yeah. We're kind of waiting for the snow and the land to dry out. So

Dj Osborne:

it's true.

Stephen Edwards:

I suppose, like up near Park City, it's still chilly. I mean, I would imagine you still get that group of people that wants to. That's me. I want to wear shorts. I want to come out on your UTV tour and wear shorts. Yeah. So if I'm coming to Park City, I'm probably waiting until June. Yeah.

Unknown:

Well, even then I took we went UTV, camping, my wife saw that. Last June,

Dj Osborne:

it was 30 degrees. And she was like, I'm out. I'm going to sleep in the trailer. I can't do this. Dude. I was even saying that too. Because I mean, I lived in Colorado, Colorado a little bit and like, you know, and I've been up in the mountains on I 70. there when those ski resorts close, you know, even even in the summertime, and it's it's still jackets, you know what I mean? It's still beanies and stuff like that. It's not like Steve shorts

Stephen Edwards:

and crocs. This is why they invented the Hyatt, because I don't want to go. I don't want to stay at your in your camper and you hear a tent. Yeah. How is that? I think it's interesting. How old are your kids? You got young kids, don't you?

Unknown:

So my oldest is 12.

Stephen Edwards:

Okay, he's older than I thought. Are they totally into it? Do they think those are the coolest thing? Are they not? Yeah,

Unknown:

it's well, it's kind of weird because they're, like, naturally gifted because my wife also is like, really? She's She's a badass on her elbows or driving or whatever. And so she

Stephen Edwards:

shot Is that why you said that? No, she's not even here.

Unknown:

I wish she was cuz she would have been so pumped because she never believed that I talked about her.

Dj Osborne:

So same.

Unknown:

Yeah, our kids like my oldest is just like, yeah, dad, like, you know, it'd be cool if I was like driving all day. This sucks. Like, he already gets it. You know, I let him I went to Coos Bay and I let him drive my my Canon x three around he's, you know, 10 years old driving this thing around. And now he's hooks now he's just like, well, I can do it. So I should be

Stephen Edwards:

I got this dad. Just let me take this way powerful machine and you'll be fine. And they get cabin fever. They're like, Dad, I

Unknown:

want to go camping. I want to go ride. That's awesome. Yeah, yeah. So it's cool that the family also really digs. They that's the hardest part though, is finding the balance between like, when do I get to take some time to just go enjoy this stuff myself. You know, I mean, I have fun doing it with clients, but

Stephen Edwards:

so so to that, would you Enjoy it because because i i agree with you. So as you know, we have a Jeep Tour rental company over here we've had slingshots and all that. I never drive the jeeps. I'm just I don't want to say that I'm not interested. But they're too readily available. It's like it's not fun to go out and take a Jeep because why would I? Yeah, I mean, so I'm curious to the point of if on your free time, I mean, are you going in riding just to go ride? Are you born to ride his boys? Right? Yeah.

Unknown:

If we're not snowmobiling, I have some quests that I'm going on some Canyon. I'm going to go ride some Creek on some night ride we're gonna do you know, we still are trying to develop ourselves as riders to be for sure looked at as professionals in the industry. And so

Stephen Edwards:

that night ride you guys did the other day was awesome. Outlook. Yes. That Knight Rider looked insane.

Unknown:

Isn't it that in the daytime is insane. I mean,

Stephen Edwards:

that's over in St. George's another. Where's that out?

Unknown:

Oh, yeah. You're talking about that. Yeah, that's that was in St. George. Yeah, yeah.

Stephen Edwards:

That house that night, right over and St. George looked

Unknown:

incredible. No, I'm almost like, man, it'd be cool to do like night rides.

Dj Osborne:

Where was that?

Stephen Edwards:

Where was that on his personal page? Oh, cool.

Unknown:

I think I posted a photo of it on our

Stephen Edwards:

Instagram, though. Yes, it was bad. There we go. Down to right there. Oh, yeah. That looks super cool. See, I'm all about that. I

Unknown:

have fire dancers. So they're like, dude, we're gonna do this fire dancing thing. Yeah. I mean,

Dj Osborne:

and that's kind of part of the experience thing of like, why people should like, you know what I mean, there is a difference of tours. Like I know you hate to use that tours, but it is an experience and what you're doing is you're booking professionals who, you know what I mean? Know, the know, the train, know, the equipment. And yeah, you get to use their experience and their knowledge. You know what I mean to have a fun experience for yourself. So I totally think that's cool. Yeah, you guys, people should check this out. Their Instagram, their YouTube, check out their website. You know what I mean? And I think that that's a cool here. Their

Stephen Edwards:

website's badass. Yeah, better. bra. Awesome. Yeah, I am. I'm all about that if you put together that night, right. That's, that's sweet. I think that that was badass. I saw that shit. I was like, This is cool as hell,

Unknown:

and also threatened owns the company that makes all the lights off for the razors.

Dj Osborne:

So yeah. You know, it's a cool, I mean, it's totally a cool way to You mean, I see you posted it. And then you got some like feedback. You know what I mean, as well, too, from customers. Like, it's totally something that, yeah, people would be interested in doing,

Stephen Edwards:

I saw your motocross ride because I know that we're deep in the promotion of that. And I think it's super neat. But you're definitely you're definitely catering to some guys that have some some experience riding there, though. Some of that riding you guys have posted up in those videos, you guys are going on some pretty awesome stuff out there. But it's definitely not for my first motocross riding trip.

Unknown:

No, the the motorcycle things kind of, it's obviously it has, you have to have some sort of experience. Roger, right. And we have terrain like if you are new to motorcycle riding, we're going to go ride some fun roads, and have a good time, we're going to work on your skill. If you're established rider, then you know, we're gonna go visit the single track and find out I'm going to test you a little bit and figure out what you can and can't handle. And we're either going to turn it up or down. Skinny, you know, this weekend, we had three guys who were pretty experienced riders and we were able to do like two days of just phenomenal riding with these guys. I mean, they were they were like, I cannot believe this exists in the West. You know, and that's, that's the whole thing is there are millions of motorcycle riders all over this planet. And how do we connect with them and get them to come to Utah and ride with us? You know? Like,

Stephen Edwards:

I agree 100% so

Dj Osborne:

I need you guys for

Stephen Edwards:

we're working on it, man. We're working on it. I mean, I think you know, we've talked about it a lot and i think that you know that motorcycle one is such a different experience and your guys's normal snowmobile and UTV tours because because of the need to be an experienced writer and because I think it you know I think it lends itself to the idea of like what we've talked about almost to the idea of like those men's groups of multi day getaways where it's like a great way for you know, the guys to go out ride for a couple days go experience southern Utah and yeah, you know, the scenery is insane. So let's total that's totally a I mean, it's a new part of modern day anyways, you

Dj Osborne:

know what I mean? Like those mental health retreats, you know what I mean, even for corporate stuff like A lot of people are revolving their business around that, because people have accident. People pay for knowledge, right? Like, that's always been the thing. You know what I mean in life coaching and stuff. So people pay for knowledge in the tour and experience space. Like we've seen that now for a while. I see that being a big trend.

Unknown:

Yeah, and I mean, with my own experience, you know, as when I was a software developer, and I felt like I was dying inside. I mean, I was looking for that experience, because living on the edge is what was keeping me alive. You know, and it was, I mean, I paid a lot of money for Shawn's three day experience, because, you know, I knew it was gonna make me feel alive again.

Stephen Edwards:

Is that, is that what we run in your ads? I was like, Are you feeling like, you feel like you're dying inside?

Dj Osborne:

I mean, I look, I mean, I mean, I'm maybe not say like that lingo, maybe lose some more creative, but, uh, but I think honestly, that's a great business model. You know, what I mean, even to like back to even your content creation, and talking about that, and believing in that, that is a huge thing of what operators need to do all the time anyways. And they need to think of their business like that. Because Yeah, you're creating content to show your experiences, and then adding a price tag to the back of it.

Unknown:

Yeah, you know, what I mean, and, and I think in, you know, in this industry, too, you know, a lot of these guys have been around for 2030 years, and they're doing the same exact stuff they've been doing for 2030 years. And the world's changing, and that's like, when I got involved in, in in this, you know, I recognize that that was happening, you know, and that people were dying for these experiences. And they were, they were seeking some way to disconnect. And, you know, we wanted to go deep in the back country, you know, where, where they can, yeah, there's nothing, you know, which is them. And for some of the guys, I mean, they honestly feel like they're going to die back there, like the like, how are we going to get out of here, you know, and you look at their face, and it's sad, and you're like, oh, man, this guy did not have a good day. And then we get back to the trailer. And he's like, dude, I survived as the best day of my life.

Stephen Edwards:

We need a story, man. So we need a story around that, because I know you're taking out all these people. Yeah, what's the biggest train wreck? Yeah,

Unknown:

the biggest train wreck. Yes,

Stephen Edwards:

there had to be one. There's definitely a story to Tran because you're definitely taking out some amateur riders. That shouldn't be back country, snowmobiling.

Unknown:

Yeah. Man, you know, I've had I have. The problem is when guys the motorcycle thing. I guess this is a perfect example. Guys that ride motorcycles who don't race. They, they believe that they're higher up in the hierarchy hierarchy of their writing abilities and what they truly are a guy that races he knows where he lives. He knows it. But a guy that doesn't race. He's like, dude, I'm the best of my friends. I'm like an awesome writer. Well, that's not always the case. In fact, most of the time, they're terrible writers. Just because I have no real training, right? Sure. Yeah. And so we'll get these guys out here. And they're like, yeah, you know, I wrote a 300 and data. And we get out on the mountain and we start writing. And they're like, we're on the top of this mountain or 10,000 feet. And they're thinking they're gonna roll all the way to the bottom of mountain if they fall off the bike or something. And so had this guy, he was completely panicked, would not move. He he had walk. Like, we literally had to hike him to, like the next trail junction where there was the actual road to ride out of like, he would not ride the single track. And oh, well, I wrote a 300 on my buddy's farm.

Dj Osborne:

Oh, yeah. I get I get Steve, as Steve was looking for. Yeah, I mean, I guess you don't want to say like somebody died or most. I hope nobody died. Most most injured. Or the most expensive crash or most expensive fix the

Unknown:

party that did the most expensive crashing they What was that? He crashed every machine.

Stephen Edwards:

Oh, that's fun. Yeah, it makes you happy when you load up all the machine. Yeah. And we

Unknown:

had a snowmobile tour last year. And these guys were like, yeah, we just paid our credit cards off. We're gonna get crazy today. One dude was like running the trees and stuff. And I was getting super pissed off. And I told Justin, I was like, dude, you're gonna have to deal with these guys. And he's like, bro, you're the guide. Why don't you just take them into the nastiest canyon in the US and I was like, Good idea. So we dropped him into this ravine. It was, you know, just stupid deep, and none of them had the skills to get down or up it and And so I let them just fight for their lives for two hours trying to get unstuck and stuff. And by the end of it, they're like, do you just want to go back to the truck, man, we're done. I'm like, Oh, yes. Well,

Dj Osborne:

I don't even know what he just what he said at the beginning there. He said, we just paid off our credit cards, bro. I'm ready to go. Yeah, like what is that? Like? What does that mean? Like, what does that mean? Like

Unknown:

that was to trash the sleds break everything and just whenever I mean, like,

Stephen Edwards:

how does I never once woke up in that way? Or I'm like, you know what,

Dj Osborne:

man? Dude, I'm gonna go over to dream exotics and I'm gonna rent this Lamborghini and be like, bro just paid off my can't wait to max this fucker out.

Stephen Edwards:

Everything while you get that guy?

Dj Osborne:

That's like the line right there. I was like, I've never heard that before. Dude never heard Steve's line. Steve line is like, Hey, if you're gonna wreck it just fucking racket.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah, totally. I want the insurance claim. I've got your insurance I want to totaled. I don't want it back from like half ass. Yeah, I need you to wrap this around a tree.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah, that's what we that's what I was kind of like wondering. I was like, where does it go on with this on this. I was like, I was like, fucking just let it just let it bark. Just put it off the canyon. It's

Stephen Edwards:

funny when you say that about like motocross riders because I am 100% that guy where I've had I've had plenty of dirt bikes. I've had a lot of street bikes and like, I've had the street glides and the cbrs and all that. Pick your bike. Right? And I think I'm an okay writer. I'm a good writer on the street. I didn't enjoy dirt riding a dirt bike. I actually I had a rMz 250. And like, I bet you know shit if it had 40 miles on it. Yeah, that was probably high. I'm probably embellishing by twice as much as what it really had. You would put me up on a mountain bike as dirt bike, I would probably shoot myself. Yeah, I'm not about that. Like a street bike riders are actually the worst. I'm sure we are,

Unknown:

are the worst, as the principles of leaning and stuff are completely opposite. Yeah. So guys, like, Oh, dude, I ride three bikes every day of my life last 20 years. I'm like, Oh, you are gonna be so sore. By the end of today.

Stephen Edwards:

You are Hey, every portion of your body hurts portions of your body that you didn't think would hurt hurt.

Dj Osborne:

We said that after I came back from like snowmobiling like how like, you know what I mean? How you're just like a wreck.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah. And I don't I mean, I'm not tall enough. I'm not you know, you get on that. armsie 250. I feel like I'm right at the right height. And then you got to kick this thing and it doesn't start. You're like, Oh my god, this is the end of my life. I'm just gonna kick this thing until my legs.

Unknown:

He start bikes. It's live further. You got to eat her bike.

Stephen Edwards:

Or I'll just come up and ride your bikes on one time I'm going to need to in the rest of my life. I'm kind of on an edge to buy another sport bike. Do you have a sport bike style?

Unknown:

No, I sold when I when I first started the company. I sold my last sport bike, which was my prized possession. It was a rc 51 Oh, shit, nickname. In addition, Nicky Hayden was like,

Stephen Edwards:

those are named bikes.

Unknown:

I loved I you know, I love that guy so much.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah, that was that does v twin sounds so neat. That's

Dj Osborne:

that that was actually my question. I was gonna ask like, because, you know, you guys like toys and stuff like that. Like what is your ideal? Like, machine? You know what I mean? Like you have your boat. You know what I mean? What is your

Stephen Edwards:

buying a motorcycle? What would you buy a smart bike? Ooh,

Unknown:

I would probably I'd probably go with the BMW 1000 are our dude.

Stephen Edwards:

Like, that's the shit right there. It's like 200 some odd horses. Yeah, yeah, I keep looking at used ones because I can't justify the new one print new price. But supposedly they got that new m ama edition BMW 1000. Like, that's a sexy but it's like 35,000 bucks.

Unknown:

Insane. Right that I'll tell my wife all the time. I'm like, Yeah, one of the sport bikes. She's like, Why so can sit in the garage not be written like the last one.

Stephen Edwards:

Yes, yes, absolutely.

Unknown:

So what if I take it out for one day? A year? Yeah. Well, I mean, let's justify owning it for that one day of the year.

Stephen Edwards:

I'm all about ducks. Two. I think Ducati that new v4. Oh, yeah. I mean, they're just so beautiful. I hate a lot of the other bikes. So I'm not you know, I would never go out and buy like an r1 or

Unknown:

you know, and mean either it's got to be somewhat exotic right? I'm yeah,

Stephen Edwards:

I don't I'm not interested in buying a Zx 10. Like I'm yeah, in fact, I think the new Zx 10s are just hideous to be in one. So.

Dj Osborne:

Yeah. And then and then yeah, another question there on like, what is we talked about this to like, see your ideal garage space? You know what I mean? Like how many? Like what do you need? Like is it is it?

Stephen Edwards:

Is there a such thing as garage space? How big is your garage, I see all the bullshit you got in your garage and your you got a lot of shit.

Unknown:

We have kind of two locations. I mean, I store a lot of stuff in my garage which my garage is like 1000 square feet. Yeah, it's pretty, pretty good sized garage. But right now I'm trying to remember the details of it. But the garage that my partner is building, where we house all of our stuff. Yeah, insane, insane. I can't wait. I like so stoked about this building being done, but it'll be a base 14 by 14 doors. Oh,

Dj Osborne:

that's, that's where we're gonna come off today in it. We're gonna come down and do the podcast there. You know what I mean? So that's kind of the plan. Yeah. So let us know.

Unknown:

He goes above and beyond with that stuff. I mean, just because

Stephen Edwards:

when you buy some toys, you need some room to park toys. Yeah. And as you get older, you want to have more toys, and you don't want to get rid of your old toys to buy more. So you basically just outgrow all of your facility. Yeah, yeah. It's a pain. I mean, that's a struggle.

Dj Osborne:

I got down here like rolling his balls waiting for him to hit the power strip. My dog the dog. We got the office dog here, Tito. And he's, he's got a tennis ball today. Oh, you guys. And he's just rolling it over the power strips underneath the table here and I'm gonna

Stephen Edwards:

shut off. It's like, Well, that was the end of the podcast. Nice. Yeah. Well, this is awesome, man. I mean, I like that we can sit and Bs. I think what you guys do is very, very cool. Yeah, we're definitely going to come up and do one of the things but it's not going to be the dirt bike or the motocross experience because I'm a giant peseta.

Dj Osborne:

Coming up for the DJ Osborn experience. You know what I mean? That's what I'm coming for. So yeah,

Stephen Edwards:

here's a question yelling. Have you lived in Utah?

Unknown:

2005 is when I moved to Utah.

Stephen Edwards:

Okay. Is it not? I mean, and I know the answer to this, but I think it is very weird. St. George doesn't have any bars. Or like no bars. Doesn't does it know? How weird is that? I mean, I know why. Because this Park City Park City has to have some bars. bars, man.

Unknown:

city like a drink in town.

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah. St. George Utah is not there are no bars,

Dj Osborne:

or is that is that where the money's not near that a BYU

Stephen Edwards:

or B was up in Salt Lake City? You know,

Unknown:

it's up in Provo. Okay. It was pretty far away still. Um, it's funny. Yeah. Cuz I mean, a selling points coming and riding sell wheels with us used to be before COVID hit was the nightlife. All my guys. There's a nightlife here. So you can come around all day. And then you can go to some of the sweetest clubs out there and night. I mean, Park City. Really is a good place. Probably not a lot of ugly chicks in Park City.

Dj Osborne:

No, that's probably what was the what was the year we I always talk about every time Park City. I think when the Winter Olympic Olympics were there. What year was that? 2000 2000. So yeah, it was that long ago. Yeah, that's a while ago. What is the Winter Olympics schedule coming up? I don't

Stephen Edwards:

even mean I'm so off the beaten path on any of that. And then like Tokyo or something? Yeah.

Dj Osborne:

Forgot they rescheduled it because there was supposed to be an Olympics and then they rescheduled I mean, it was 2020 was the year for some Summer Olympics.

Stephen Edwards:

I don't know. I will quite literally have no clue. I

Dj Osborne:

used to be the be the thing.

Unknown:

2002 that's when the Winter Olympics were?

Jaden Cymbaluk:

Is that what it was? Yeah,

Unknown:

yeah, cuz I remember I was. Yeah. How did

Stephen Edwards:

your How did your experience go skiing snowboarding? How was that for you? Man,

Unknown:

so I tried. Yeah, I tried skiing for the first time ever. Now. Because I've always snowboarded. Yeah. I'm not a very good snowboarder, but the whole family was skiing and my wife, you know, she skied. And she's, she said, Today's been the best day ever, because I got to watch you struggle at doing something.

Stephen Edwards:

It was so hard. That is I went up snowboarding. So I am as you can probably tell from this conversation, I'm not very athletic when it comes to some of this stuff. And we went up last Christmas I think it was we went up snowboarding up at the local whatever bullshit up you're here in Vegas, right Charleston, Mount Charleston, it could have been a goddamn Hill it didn't even need to be a mount anything. The smallest Hill ever, and I have never hurt so much in my life. Every portion of my body hurt I when I got to the top of the hill, I was like, you know you guys can send up that snowmobile or you can send a helicopter whatever you have to do to help you get down to the bottom of this hill. Oh my god, that was torture us.

Dj Osborne:

There was a high end up at the top he was just gonna stay I was

Stephen Edwards:

gonna live there. was gonna live at the top of that mountain until the next season. Well tell spring came. And then I was gonna ride down the hill on a bike or something that was I have no idea. I can't snowboard. I have that board strapped to my feet. I'm like, this thing goes really fucking fast. And they're like, you just got to lean. Just just dig in. That's all

Unknown:

you do is just like, destroy your leg muscles, snowboard, and

Dj Osborne:

I think I think I I think I lost my ability to snowboard now because I haven't done it like long enough. And I used to go back and forth ski and snowboard. I even did those little small skis. I kind of like those without the poles. And then yeah, I don't think I can snowboard again like just the way my body like my body flexes now

Unknown:

how long I could it's reckless, you know, it's a reckless for Yeah.

Stephen Edwards:

Well, it's good to know that you're not going to I mean, if I ever call for help, you never have to check them out. And you never have to check any of those weird like have not stuck to snowboarding or anything like that didn't happen. I operate way better from the captain's chair of a boat. It's pretty safe there I can say I'm like out doing recreational stuff. Yeah, really just drinking.

Dj Osborne:

Do you go out on the lake? I mean, cuz you know what I mean with being motorcycles and stuff like that. Sometimes it's like, Do you own a boat? No, no, I

Unknown:

don't own a boat. I'm like set. My partner has a boat and he was always out on that thing. And yeah, the only reason why I ever go is is him and then I have another buddy that has a pretty sweet boat and everyone smile on my family is like needing a leg day I just call him say Hey, man, I'll get gas in your boat.

Dj Osborne:

That's why that's why I got steve steve. Steve's got a boat. I'm like Hey, brother. Yep.

Stephen Edwards:

Can you surf?

Unknown:

Yeah, yeah, can you learn how to surf? I don't even have to use the rope.

Stephen Edwards:

That's pretty cool shoe. Yeah,

Dj Osborne:

yeah,

Stephen Edwards:

it's cool

Unknown:

Pavani for a day all to yourself you know?

Stephen Edwards:

Yeah, you can learn almost anything you got somebody to operate a boat

Unknown:

you can get up you can figure that Yeah, all my friends are pisser like there's nobody on that boat except you know your partner and

Stephen Edwards:

yeah last water and if you can go out on a Tuesday afternoon when nobody's out on the water in the water smells you can learn anything I think.

Unknown:

Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, it probably took me about an hour to you know really feel like throw the rope in and ride a wave but do I got it at the end like Jonathan taught me how to get you bond is awesome boat so

Stephen Edwards:

yeah, all of a sudden, nobody brings

Unknown:

the back out this summer. A few

Stephen Edwards:
